Can you speak with the boss at the new job to get some reassurance? That would be horrible if they prevented you from leaving.

I was just going to post a bit of an update though, she (new boss) just emailed me she is going to start getting me a bunch of the accesses I need to do the new job.  That sounded very much like a positive.
