Oh no it has started.
There is an actress that 11 just adores, and has for years. The characters she plays are very smart, strong and vibrant women. So I am happy he is leaning that way.
We were watching a program with the actress in it and this is what he said:
11: I think there should be a whole planet of her.
Me: That would be your heaven wouldn’t it?
11: Yep!
We looked...
Set myself up a foot bath and an adult hot chocolate….it would be perfect if Corvidae30 was here to cuddle, it will have to be almost perfect for now.

I had forgotten about those. :)
I just realized I have 4 screens working when I work from home…and work on almost every one of them! :)
Multitasking Goddess is my new title.

There are 14 things booked in my calendar.
Really not a complaint…just a query.
If you book a meeting with someone do you check their availability first?

Apparently 11 thinks I am smart and sassy, Which are 2 of the 3 qualities for his perfect woman.
The 3rd is she has to be “golden” (blonde) and I don’t quite fit that requirement.
I am okay with that.
The top of my head just blew off, and not in a good way.
*depressing rant deleted*
I seem to be stuck in a negative spin.
Just had a shower to go to Jazzercise…not entirely sure where my head was on that one.
I think I just totally confused my computer. I highlighted 1644 songs and asked it to “Play Selected”. It is still thinking.

Now I am listening to Spirit of the Glen.
I found an advantage to working from home. I can listen to music…loud…and drown out all the “noise” from my boss, actually concentrate on work.
Poor Corvidae30 though, bagpipes at 9:48am might not be as enjoyable for him, maybe I will turn it down.

I did not know that. Or maybe I forgot. I know you wanted a keyboard at one time. Hmm. Now that makes sense.
I have played the piano, french horn and clarinet - and played them well. Surprise! :) You know my youngest aunt is very musical (piano, trumpet, trombone, flute, clarinet, guitar, drums, hammer...

I used to play the piano.
I don’t anymore, I don’t think I could, it has been decades.
I have been thinking about it more and more lately, I miss it.
Truthful Tuesday
I always wait up for Corvidae30.
He might not be entirely aware of it because lots of the time when I hear his key in the door and then the movements of his nighttime routine, I crash. One moment I am awake, and probably even reading something, the next moment it is like someone flicked a switch, I am out.
Sometimes I wait just because, mostly I wait because I want to make...

I learned some things today.
When you want to go back to bed at 8am you can make it through the day.
I CAN be busier.
Work can actually put out my “fire” sometimes but I can also completely lose myself in some portions of it. Portions that would probably drive other people crazy.
I will listen to or eat something over and over again for days - sometimes obsessively for a longer...
Winning the lottery would be nice because then I could do whatever I wanted rather than whatever my boss wanted.
Gotta love it, power outage and I can’t get a real person at the power company.
Wouldn’t be so bad but the electronic “leave a message about your problem area” keeps hanging up on me.
Headed into the dungeo….er….basement.
Send reinforcements.

For Knowledgesponge - this may ring a bell! →
stoweboyd:
Corporations are starting to wake up to the huge costs — direct and indirect — involved in offices. Not just the real estate and electri bills, but the human costs. But people still need to interact: to be co-present, even if it significantly less that 40 hours per week:

Somrtimes a quick switch between “wife mode” and “mother mode” can give a woman a brain cramp.
You know I thought it would be a great idea to be part of a cookie exchange when I signed up. Now I am sorta worried about it.
I could end up baking 12 dozen (or more) of something…WTF was I thinking!
My name was always my name, mom didn’t have an alternate. I was named after a great grandmother who called me her “wee lass”, my aunt and my mother.
My sister on the other hand was supposed to be a Stephen. But ended up with a totally different female name.
Crap! 16 just gave me his report card. I am glad I wasn’t eating.
We always joke with him about his marks, he is a high achiever and we want him to relax a bit sometimes. One way we do that is when he come home with his 90s on his report card we might say something like:
“Sheesh you couldn’t get 100? Slacker”
So of course the way 16 rebels is to overachieve even...
Got to spend the evening being creative. Pictures tomorrow because it is bedtime now.
Oh crap! I remembered as I was typing this that Corvidae30 and I are tackling part of the basement tomorrow.
I am getting anxious about the possible spider encounters already.

Just back from the dentist. Got a gold star. Next visit next August.
One thing I am very happy about is that I got good teeth from my family gene pool, could have gone either way.
I love smoothness of your teeth when you get back from the dentist. It makes up for the upset stomach because of the fluoride treatment. Although I might wear them out because I keep running my tongue over the...

What’s all this talk about cookies then? Also, stop working.
Would you like one?
One thing about working in the same company as your husband but at different hours is that he can see when you are working later than you should via your company’s communicator.
I feel like a kid trying to sneak a cookie……although cookie would be much better…maybe I will go get a cookie.
When I got home I started reflecting on the day. It wasn’t as awful as I thought it was going to be but it certainly was stressful. Meeting with certain people always does that to me and it got me thinking.
Why when I am with this woman that I almost hero-worship do I always feel “less”.
Less intelligent, less interesting, less refined? Like everything I say is stupid and...
Black top + sweater + many people crammed into a unbelievably hot room = black armpits at the end of the day.
People really need to be clearer in their conversations. I was trying to find someone in our torn apart office over multiple floors. So I called her cell:
Me: Hi I am on 23 and was told you were on 3.
Coworker: No I am on 8 but I am on my way down.
Me: Down to 3? Should I meet you on 3?
Coworker patiently like I am dense: No, I was already on 3, I am on 8 now and on my way to 23.
Me: Oh...
Happy Thanksgiving to all you celebrating!
Hope you all enjoy great times with those you love, a bit of just relaxing and some fantastic food!
I have been sitting here drinking a really awful microbrew and reading resumes my boss sent me (I am actually going to go dump it out after only a few sips…very very yucky).
Anyway I went to see if my co-worker was online because I got a weird feeling about the resume’s, which are all for people that would fit another team but not ours, it is sort of not unusual for our boss to do...

beer and toothpaste? that could work
That might work. ;)
I probably shouldn’t go pick up 11 from school smelling like beer…that is the only thing stopping me from wandering downstairs and getting myself one.
Maybe that is another thing I should put on my list of things to watch if I work from home more often:
Don’t become an alcoholic.

One thing about working from home more often is I am going to have to remember a few things:
Leave my desk from time to time.
Get showered and dressed BEFORE you sit down to work.
Remember to eat.
Schedule time to get out of the house.
Log off at the end of the day.
I am sure I will add to this.
Just watched Corvidae30 have a “holy crap!” moment.
We were all in the kitchen doing the breakfast thing. Corvidae30 was at the sink and 16 wandered up to rinse out his cereal bowl. Corvidae30 turned his head to look at 16 and that is when I saw the “holy crap!” look on his face. He was looking 16 in the eye.
Corvidae30 immediately stood up taller and said, “I...
